Mary Anne Leydon, owner of Creative Cafe, will discuss the benefits of artistic pursuits to your health and wellness as we create our own unique artwork. Mary Anne's career as an art teacher in a public high school spans 31 years. In March 2023, she created her studio space out of her love for art.
The Creative Cafe in Plymouth, MA offers pottery classes, wheel throwing workshops, hand building workshops, and silver jewelry workshops with Precious Metal Clay.
Creativity engages all of your senses. When you're creating art, you're using your eyes to see, your ears to hear, your nose to smell, your mouth to taste, and your hands to feel. This multisensory stimulation can have a profound effect on someone's overall well-being. Art can expand happiness in a number of ways. First, it can help to express yourself in a way that words cannot. This can be especially helpful for people who are struggling to communicate their emotions.
The workshop involves painting and firing bisque fire coasters with underglaze. The materials you need to create your own unique artwork will be provided.
Light refreshments will be served.
