South Shore Women's Business Network - Lunch and Learn with Dr. Corey Blake - Respected or Liked?
The South shore Women's Business Network Lunch and Learn Series bring together local professionals for a mid-day blend of practical education and relationship building, in line with the network's long standing focus on contacts, coaching, collabortion and community support. Attendees will leave with actionable insights and actions to apply to their businesses.
March's speaker is Dr. Corey Blake
Dr. Corey Blake is a feminine leadership coach and founder of The FERA Collective, where she specializes in stress and burnout for high-performing women. Her work supports driven leaders who are outwardly successful but inwardly exhausted - helping them shift from survival mode into embodied, sustainable leadership. By blending somatics, nervous system regulation, and feminine leadership principles, Corey guides women to lead powerfully without abandoning their bodies, pleasure, or humanity.
The focus of this Lunch and Learn is:
Are You Respected or Are You Liked?
In leadership, especially in business, perception matters. Research shows that while male leaders are often able to command both respect and likeability, women leaders frequently face a double bind - competence may come at the cost of likeability, and warmth at the cost of respect. In this engaging session, we’ll explore how this dynamic contributes to stress and burnout, why it persists, and practical strategies women can use to shift it - so you can lead with both impact and authenticity. Join us for insights, real-world examples, and actionable tools to strengthen your leadership experience.
The lunch and learn format underscores SSWBN's commitment to providing ongoing, relevant professional development opportunities that fit into a busy workday. Alongside the educational content this event will offer some informal networking time so participants can exchange ideas and explore partnerships.
